Rigo 23 (born Ricardo Gouveia, 1966) is a Portuguese-born American muralist, painter, and political artist. He is known in the San Francisco community for having painted a number of large, graphic "sign" murals including: ''One Tree'' next to the U.S. Route 101 on-ramp at 10th and Bryant Street, ''Innercity Home'' on a large public housing structure, ''Sky/Ground'' on a tall abandoned building at 3rd and Mission Street, and ''Extinct'' over a Shell gas station. He resides in San Francisco, California. Early life and education Rigo was born in 1966 and raised on the island of Madeira in Portugal. In his youth he joined Center for Cultural Action (CACF) in Funchal and connected with older artists. Rigo arrived in San Francisco in 1985, using the name Rigo 85. Henry Of Treviso
Henry of Treviso (german: Heinrich von Bozen; it, italic=yes, Arrigo nricoda Bolzano) (died 1315), also known as Henry of Bolzano or Blessed Rigo, was a lay pilgrim and holy man, a German from Bolzano (Bozen), who established himself in Treviso after the death of his wife and son. There he lived in extreme poverty, subsisting on alms, the excess of which he distributed among the poor. His death was accompanied by "a popular outpouring of emotion" and he was declared the patron saint of Treviso as early as 1316, just one year after his death. In 1317 the commune tried and failed to obtain official ecclesiastical sanction for Henry’s cult. He was beatified in 1750 by Pope Benedict XIV. Frank Rigo
Frank Rigo (c. 1868 – 5 August 1936) was an American director of grand opera who had a substantial career in Australia, where he died penniless, leaving an orphaned daughter. History Rigo was born in America and grew up in New York, where he developed a love of opera. He was associated with the production side of the business at the Met and in Covent Garden, London. He left for Australia in 1911 to work as producer for the Melba- Williamson combination, and remained in the country after his period of contract was over. He made several attempts at founding a permanent opera company and mounted several important productions. His ''Rigo Grand Opera Company'' was in 1919 taken over by J. C. Williamson's. Among the performers whose careers he promoted were Browning Mummery, Strella Wilson and Frederic Collier. Ondrej Rigo
Ondrej Rigo (17 December 1955 – 14 June 2022) was a Slovak serial killer and necrophile who targeted women in Bratislava, Munich and Amsterdam from 1990 to 1992. He served a life sentence until his death for nine murders and one attempted murder in Leopoldov Prison in Slovakia. Rigo was diagnosed with a schizoid personality disorder and an antisocial personality disorder as well as necrophilia, finding pleasure in having intercourse with women with mutilated heads. Rigo remains the Slovak murderer with the highest number of victims and he is also the most prolific serial killer in modern Slovak history. Early life Ondrej Rigo has a daughter. Rigoberto Tovar García (March 29, 1946 – March 27, 2005), better known as Rigo Tovar, was a Mexican musician, singer and actor. Famous for his cumbias, Tovar infused traditional Mexican and Latin music with modern instruments like the electric guitar and synthesizer and popular styles such as rock and soul music. Tovar was born and raised in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. After moving to the neighborhood of East End in Houston, Texas, his musical career began to take off in the early 1970s. Blending cumbia, tropical, and modern pop rock, he quickly gained a large following. In 1971, Tovar released his first album entitled ''Matamoros Querido'' which garnered two hits, "Matamoros Querido" and "Lamento De Amor". Rigoberto Urán Urán, ODB (born 26 January 1987) is a Colombian professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won a silver medal in the road race. He became the first Colombian ever to make the podium of the Giro d'Italia, when he finished second behind Vincenzo Nibali in the 2013 edition of the race, having taken leadership of following the abandonment of team captain Bradley Wiggins.
